Constant and excessive worry, sleep difficulties, racing thoughts and pounding heart are just some of the symptoms you may be experiencing when you are anxious. We all may suffer from intense anxiety at certain times of our lives (like on the first day of school/ new job or when taking SATs) but anxiety can become debilitating when it starts to interfere with our lives.
Experiencing an anxiety attack is often described as having a heart attack and the worry of a recurrence can trigger another attack.
At Carolinas Mental Health, I help my clients to learn and practice a combination of several relaxation methods, mindfulness skills and cognitive tools to take control of their anxiety.
