Constant and excessive worry, sleep difficulties, racing thoughts and pounding heart are just some of the symptoms you may be experiencing when you are anxious. We all may suffer from intense anxiety at certain times of our lives (like on the first day of school/ new job or when taking SATs) but anxiety can become debilitating when it starts to interfere with our lives.
Experiencing an anxiety attack is often described as having a heart attack and the worry of a recurrence can trigger another attack. Panic attacks can happen as a result of trauma, phobias, and high stress environments.
At Carolinas Mental Health, I use “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Acceleration Resolution Therapy” and teach coping tools and relaxation skills to treat anxiety and help you live a calm and peaceful life.
